The long cold metal pierced her soft skin like there was nothing there at all. She did not scream just a look of shock on her face as she looked at the sword now going through her abdomen and out her back. The tip of the blade dripped with her ruby liquid.

Her eyes tearing up as her hands grasped the unforgiving weapon. She looked up at him and the look on his face was one she had never seen. His mouth twisted up into a wicked grin, contradicting his flowing tears. "Why?" she whispered, blood dripping from her mouth. "Because I love you." His voice was dark.

Soft sounds escaped her as her breathing grew shallow. Suddenly the sword was pulled from her convulsing body. A gasping sound came from above her as blood splattered onto her head.

Looking up she saw the blood coming from his open jaw. He ripped the blade from his body and sunk to his knees. He took her into his arms and held her tight as they lay on the ground together.

She never thought it would end like this. Bleeding to death next to love in the frigid rain. Her fingers going numb, eyes trying to close, a peaceful eternal sleep was coming and she could do nothing about it.

His lips pressed against her forehead. His last breaths were hot and wet with blood as it filled his lungs. He coughed. More blood splattered on her paling skin. The contrast of his deep red blood against her pale white skin was something of beauty in a mad man's eyes.

They were drifting farther from the life they once knew. All they heard was the rain as it pounded on them, washing the blood away. Kissing her forehead once more he whispered:

I love you.
